Greetings, I am a lifelong radio fan/listener. Growing up in the 1970's I had the pleasure of owning a GE SuperRadio which, quite by accident, introduced me to the world of AM DXing. As a new and young baseball fan at the time, but living far from any MLB teams, I greatly enjoyed picking up various MLB broadcasts in the evening hours (Orioles, Braves, Cardinals, Reds, Tigers, Cubs, plus listening to CBS Radio coverage of the World Series). I also discovered talk radio (Talknet with Bruce Williams and company, Larry King and his 'young fill-in' at the time Jim Bohannon [RIP to all 3 of those greats]). In the early 80s I read about shortwave radio and saved up my pennies to purchase an expensive portable made by Sangean -- that was when I first began listening to BBC World Service along with many other English language SW services, most of which can no longer be found except as internet streams.
