New Mesquite Rimshot

I'm sure many of you saw the news on allaccess. Simmon's Media bought Hot AC KADD/Laughlin for 8 million. They will change the city of license to Logandale and rimshot the signal to Vegas from a tower just south of Mesquite.

Does anybody here have any additional information such as frequency, dates, format, etc?

Simmons has a very good track record in Utah. They sold a strong group of stations, including AC powerhouse KSFI, to Bonneville last year. They still own a cluster of stations in Salt Lake including a Jack-FM.

Having interest in this topic I can comment on some facts about Simmons. I worked for a Simmons outlet in Pocatello,(Blackfoot)Idaho at the now defunct Live 105. Yes, its a rim shot into Vegas hitting Logandale's transmitter site. However, that's not it for Simmons. Entravision has been in talks with Simmons and will be selling off its 105.1 station "KQRT" to Simmons by end of August to become I believe a Kick 'in Country. Hot 97 (Kemp Broadcasting)is and has always been for sale. Simmons has expressed a strong interest in Hot and plans a purchase agreement sometime late this summer. Hot 97 will most likely go H-urban and the frequency in Logandale I hear to be 99.9 and a 100kw transmitter is to be the new Jack FM for Las Vegas. The FCC should clear Simmons to operate the Logandale site late July. BRING ON THE RADIO WARS OF CLEAR CHANNEL, INFINITY AND SIMMONS. What a time to be in radio!
