So there I was getting my daughter ready for school this morning. I had Fox 25
on in the kitchen and while I was getting her coat I heard her yell:"look dad, they
are getting naked on the TV!!!!! So I looked and what do I see:A surreal office scene
in which the "workers" where undressing while dancing. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! Shame on
Fox 25 For Running the spot. ( I already sent them a very angry E-mail).

Just another reason to hate boston radio. are there any morals left?????

More fuel for VB to whine about how liberals are trying to control everything.

No, I am not a liberal........... Just a concerned parent......who cares.

Geez Joe! Now I gotta get that image outta my head!

Just a little tidbit.....If I had kids I was getting ready for school in the morning, I would have Nickelodoen or the Disney Channel on. Not Fox 25. It's probably not the best idea anyway to have the news on anytime kids are around with all the bad news going on, but um...your kids seeing the Mike commercial is your fault, not Fox 25.

I had the TV on just for myself- I was checking out the traffic one more time before I went to
work. ( normaly I just listen to WATD but i wanted to see how things were up north.) We were literally
going out the door.Acually I`m surprised my daughter didn`t just grab the remote and change it.
She usually does. spongebob was on in the living room before this happend.

I probably should have not brought this up. I guess this bothers me more than others.

The REAL story is this: Boston TV news is hurting. There are fewer eyeballs than ever watching what they dish out, which is to say that a squirrel getting hit by a car is 'BREAKING NEWS!' and all other news is what we all knew hours beforehand or the night before on Drudge (or wherever). Their 'reason for being' is nearly exhausted.

So, it is against this backdrop that stations--who have to feed the 'talent' with salaries--need to scrounge up every advertising dollar they can. Which means some very, very questionable commercials. And stupid commercials. And redundant commercials (try counting how many car commercials you see in a given newscast). Their appetite for advertising revenue precludes their 'good sense.' These stations haven't seen an advertising dollar they don't like...or won't take.

If my choice was between VB or Rob Hakala, I'd choose Rob LOL

My eight year old though it was pretty funny. She was more curious about how they got that much egg yolk in one place.

I hope you are being sarcastic. The "It's all you need to put on" commercial has been running since the early 90s, that's over 10 years ago, at least. And, and IIRC, the er, privates are covered very well.

My opinion? Its no big thing. Legally, as long as they are coverd, they are clothed.

Wow...if you are sending emails for every commercial that is as risque as that spot, how do you find time work? I saw the spot during the Sox game tonight, then I flipped over to another station and saw an Oil Of Olay (sp??) spot with a woman swimming past my screen with a green ribbon across her lady parts...I found that spot to be far more revealing than the Mike spot.

Just another reason to hate body wash. Are the any morals left????

I caught that ad after the ballgame yesterday. A few personal observations.

I thought it was just a cheesy piece of work. It looked, to me, like those 'canned' format ad packages stations can buy and customize with voiceover and supers. It certainly would get me to listen to Mike, but then it wasn't targeted at me.

As for the nudity, yikes, both of my houses are next to beaches, and I can see more 'nakedness' whenever I look out a window during the summer. If you're trying to keep your children from being exposed to that type of nudity, and cheesy, bad-taste commercials, I think you're in for pretty tough sledding.

TSB

Okay, after clicking on the second link I saw a different commercial. I still don't see what the big deal is. Like TSB said....you'll see more skin at a public pool or a beach than you will in that ad.

Obviously, make that line to read "wouldn't get me to listen."

Luckily, I'm one of the millions of people who have managed to avoid Mike FM.

Real bad tv spot. Not even marginally funny. We've seen this sorta stuff before in radio station marketing, and done better.

Sorry to say, this spot looks like the same spots that these agencies have been cooking up for years.

Gawd, radio is soooo stuck in the mud spinning its wheels.
