Starting monday the new morning show will be Jorge Sedano and Krystal Fernandez. Good move so far lets just hope they find a good show for Sedanos old spot instead of Salguero.

They should hire someone who's a proven talent to replace Sedano. But, I wouldn't count on it. How funny would it be if Hank Goldberg ends up there? Never happen. But, would be great.

loved Krystal when she was on with Andrew Siciliano on Fox Sports Radio before getting the boot in favor of Petros and Money, who I despised originally but have gradually grown on me

Hank would be a good replacement, but my bet is it will be a syndicated show. Colin Cowherd? LF isn't spending money on the Ticket like Feinberger did.

Sedano was doing some weekend evening stuff for Fox Sports, too. So does that mean he'll also end up sometimes on 940?

Make no mistake, all these changes LF are making are all about MONEY. Putting a syndicated product, Colin Cowherd from 10a-1p and dumping Zaslow for PD Steve White is about saving money. Sedano and Fernandez salaries combined are less than what they paid Sid. So this is all about saving money folks.

I think there's a real chance that 790 will finish behind 940 from 10AM-1PM. The Dan Patrick/Jim Rome combo may well beat out Colin Cowherd. I never thought I'd say this, but 790 was a much stronger station when Joel Feinberg was playing radio. What a fall this station has taken.

I feel bad for Zaz, he seems like a genuinely good guy and a new dad to boot. He deserves better than getting kicked to the curb over a few bucks. How much could they possibly have been paying him?

Roxy... think about what you are saying. Why do you think Sedano took 2 vacations and it took over the last two months to negotiate this deal? Because he wanted a good tan? He & Krystal were in the drivers seats. Where LFM is saving money is on Sedano's 6 figure Mid-Day salary (which will be the last of those under the LFM umbrella). So, you are right to an extent. But, Sedano & Krystal are national talents. They would be idiots to take less money. Especially, negotiating in a position of power. And, based on how long the negotiations took there's no question they got paid accordingly. My sources at LFM told me they low balled them at first & Sedano told them he'd let his contract expire & walk down the street. The folks at LFM panicked & he got the deal done for he & Krystal Fernandez.

I listened to the new 790 lineup today. I actually like Colin Cowherd and Steve White. However...something hit me. As a listener to 790 since it's inception, the station has had bigger than life personalities. Joe Rose, Sid Rosenberg, Dan LeBatard, Boog Schambi were a big part of their success. Event he owner, Joel Feiberg was a personality. Now, LeBatard is all that's left. Sedano is alright...he's a slot receiver, nickel back, really good special teams player (have to use those sports analogies) but I doubt that he keeps anyone at 560 up nights trying to figure out how to compete with him. As of today, I think 790 is closer to being overtaken by 940 than they are to catching 560. It's a shame.

What is so outstanding about the 560 line-up? Yes the 790 one is not as name driven as it was, but Rose is nothing special, Mandich is stale and Neil is just hanging around. Neither station is what they once were but I like the odds of the younger guys to grow an audience. And give me a break with 940, not in the same league as the other two....maybe JCR but not 560 or 790.

I'm an old guy. I'm not supposed to fall into the young demo that WAXY has, but I agree w/ sports9. QAM's lineup is nothing special either anymore. Joe and Jim have done the same show for years. And, unlike Neil they have they don't have the personality to just stay status quo. Bangy Dangy & Drivin Around w/ your Windows Down gets stale after 15 years. As far as Sedano, people in the industry love him. He's sellable and despite what you may believe he is a personality. Much larger than anything Jon Sciambi brought to the table. He gets numbers and I know for a fact QAM has tried to offer him jobs on numerous occasions. I know from having been in that building for a time. Hell, even Neil & Flee spoke recently (a few months ago) about Joe Bell taking him to lunch. Le Batard is by far the best show in the market.

I personally think the two stations best lineups were these:

WAXY: Sid, Sedano, Sciambi, Le Batard
WQAM: Joe, Neil, Mandich & Hank

Those lineups produced the respective stations best numbers and from my knowledge of sales the best opportunity to make money.

I agree whole-heartedly. Even if Sedano doesn't quite measure up to Joe(who sells a ton but never gets great ratings), he's going to be an upgrade over Sid. Sid has all the talent in the world, but alienated everyone so much that people that listened were either New Yorkers or people who didn't want to hear Joe. Sedano should be able to attract the latter, plus some New Yorkers, and the younger sports fan.

never was a big Sciambi fan, he was too combative and never let people finish their thoughts. Great pbp guy though. Sedano has some of those same tendencies. Loved Sid, he was like a twitchy grenade, you just never knew when he was gonna blow...makes for great radio (in my opinion) but it probably is a huge headache for management. Cowherd is a fantastic talent, has a way of making me see a side of things that I never considered. His euphamisms are spot on. And Levitz and Stugots are just great, period.
