New Morning Guy on the Wolf

Who is the new morning host on the Wolf? I heard him this morning but I never caught his name. Where did he come from and what type of background does he have? His voice is a little unusual for a morning drive personality but he has already shown more talent and personality this morning than Denis Proir did his entire stay at the Wolf.

Jim Day...

formerly mornings (for years) on WHKO in Dayton.

I could not agree more. Prior was not what that station needed, I enjoy listening to Day.
But, as another poster once said the name of the station is awful "the Wolf". Someone could have thought of a better name than that.

I think "the Wolf" is great name. But it's definitely a mismatch for 95.5's format. To me, "the Wolf" conjures up a station, country or rock, that plays harder-edged music.

Dennis Prior sounded OK on the air but I never got the hype about how wise and witty he is. This new guy is pretty good.

I hope mgmt gives him time to settle in and build a show. I worked w/Jim for awhile, and he is a very good guy who truly loves doing his show everyday. He'll get involved in the community and do some good things.

With the name, "Wolf," I think it all depends on how you present it. I'm out of market so I don't know how WSM is doing it, but you can portray it as either this traditional lurking in the night creature that prowls around looking to kill, or quite the opposite, as a cartoonish figure who everybody loves. I would think for a country station the latter is certainly the way to go! Males still think it's a cool name for the station and females aren't offended by it becuz they see it as this furry, lovable station mascot! (Just be glad it isn't "Froggy"...with Pete Moss, I.B. Green and the whole froggy gang to be so cute with the froggy stuff you'd wanna puke!)

Perhaps Prior was only doing what he was directed to do by John Sebastian.
The new guy doesn't have to work for John Sebastian.

And how's YOUR morning show doing?

Thanks Dennis, Good to hear from you.
