New Morning Show at Mix

Hi John...Spoke with Boz this week...says he stays in touch with you..

How's Erie radio...? Anyone remember CCK early days?? How about an oldies format..bring Boz, me, you, back! Energy, personality, and a great jingle pack! And image liners by Jeff Laurence

Hey Frank...Kinda funny talking about Erie radio on a Tampa forum...lol.

1260AM is WRIE - Music of your Life
1330AM is WFNN - The Fan - Mostly sports talk
1400AM is WJET - News/Talk
1450AM is WPSE - Penn State Erie campus - News/Financial/some sports

91.3FM is WQLN - NPR/specialized programming/some classical/jazz programs
93.9FM is WTWF - The Wolf - 90's/current country
94.7FM is WFGO - Froggy 94.7 (Oldies)
97.9FM is WXTA - Country
99.9FM is WXKC - Classy 100 (A/C-Hot/AC-1970s/1980s too)
100.9FM is WRKT - Rocket 101 (New/Classic rock)
102.3FM is WQHZ - Z1023 - Classic rock
103.7FM is WRTS - Star 104 (Top 40) - market leader
106.3FM is WCTL - Christian

Sad to say only a few remember WCCK. Think the calls are in Kentucky.

Couple 70's people are still here though. JJ Sanford (Jim Griffey) is prod dir for Citadel locally and sometimes on-air at co-owned WQHZ. Dan Geary is still at Froggy. Frank Martin retired in 2003 from afternoons at Froggy. Mike West (Fast Eddie Stanton) still works for the City of Erie. Bruce O'Brien was back in the market about 10 years ago but disappeared again. Joey Stevens has been a TV weather guy at WSEE since 1998, before that TV weather at WJET from 1978-1998. Bill Shannon is involved with Mercyhurst College. Runs their campus station, coaches youth hockey and is teaching a broadcasting course at Mercyhurst North East. Bob Bach (Johnny Holiday) still is in sales, has been at WJET-TV for many years.

So many people came through this market in the 70's/80's. Would love to know where they are now. Have been asking about a couple on the 'Where Are They Now' section here.

Needless to say, back to the original topic, helluva market jump from Jamestown, NY to Tampa! Don't know the guy but that's a pretty cice move up!

Thanks for the update, John. Yes, a big leap from Jamestown to the top 20, however, there is a bunch of talent and some pretty good radio in some smaller markets.

John...try teddwebb.com

There is a "where are they now" section that you may enjoy. ALthough mostly Tampa Bay people, there are a few you may remember such as Bob Tracy and Freddy K (Chuck Morgan)..

Anyone remember a guy named Jeff Eustis? I worked with him when I was in Buffalo/Niagara Falls..And who FedEX's a good pizza around Jamestown? man I could use a slice.

Hi Frank..If you liked Grease Bullet..you'll love the new Hillside "Self-Heating Coffee" Amazing? You bet..here's how to order..although none are in stock because (no kidding) someone in the government apparently is afraid they will self heat SO much that they will burn people..so the product is apparently on hold..but here's the spot. Might really be a hot product 9pardon the pun_ when it finally gets cleared

Actually, somewhere on this site, listed a 'where are they now' for Jamestown NY DJ's from the late 1970s-early 1980s and Jeff Huestis was one of them.
Worked with him at WKSN in Jamestown from 1979-1981. He told me stories how he worked at WYSL around 1970 or so and beat Stan Roberts in morning drive. At some point, prior to WKSN, he worked at WJTN. No idea where he is now, although last heard somewhere in the Carolinas.
Haven't spoken to him since 1981 when I left for Parkersburg, WV.
