New morning show for the "Bull!"

And the new MD/APD and afternoon driver is: Lance Houston. (Do we have a problem?)

LAME!!!!
How soes this choice cater to the 24-54 women demo that they are trying to reach? I didn't realize that this demo is attracted to crappy radio.

I've worked for Clear Channel in a couple of markets (Atlanta being one of them) and knowing their mentality, they probably just transfered this guy from one of their other stations at a dirt-cheap rate. Their bottom line is money, so as long as he is somewhat articulate and doesn't make mistakes that cost them anything, he'll work.

Big D and Bubba ARE moving here from Nashville right? I mean, how many times does the same company have to learn that Atlanta listeners (outside of urban stations) thoroughly reject piped-in morning shows? It's almost like they're offended that the 9th largest market isn't deemed worthy of its own talent.

Totally agreed. Just like the MJ debacle a few years ago.

PLEASE give some respect to the ATL.

CC certainly does not and never will.

Shoot the "BULL", It needs to be put out of its misery, and barbequed.

BD&B moved to Nashville from Baton Rouge a few years ago...to have a better base
for their syndication. PREMIERE picked 'em up last year: I don't know how many affiliates
they have, but I think it's more than 20. CC built beautiful studios for them...and they do custom
segments for each affiliate daily...including afternoons on WSIX.

I do not see them relocating to Atlanta...no need to: each station would still get exactly the
same segments they're currently getting...so why move?

Wow. "why move." There's an example of just how far away we've come from live, local talent who lived in, knew and were part of their communities, mingled frequently (sometimes even socially!) with the clients, and were out hitting the streets, pressing the flesh on weekends. And we wonder why clients don't think we have anything special to offer them anymore. What a genius industry we're in.

you missed the point of "why move"...
of course being live and local would be a reason to move BD&B to Atlanta...but that's
not happening. the syndication via Premiere continues...the show would be unchanged.

THAT"S why I asked "why move"...if the product remains the same...no need to relocate
the origination point of the uplink.

and thanks for the radio 101 lesson.

Oh great, another import...

I've got an idea, even if it seems a little crazy. How about putting Larry and Eric on The Bull? Seems to me they'd fit nice alongside the country format :) That way it'll be consistant with the market base, AND local talent.

Memo to the world: Larry and Eric are no more and never will be again. Eric grew tired of it and was leaving when his contract was up in March.
