NEW MORNING SHOWS AROUND TOWN

So has anyone listened to either of the two new morning shows in Providence?
Cat Country: The Tim Leary Showgram-This guy's good and his female co-host plays well with him. He may do stand-up but isn't trying to do it on the radio, which is a good thing, but as we discussed before that sense of humor helps on the air. I think if he stays he has the ability to build up a following.
Hot 106:I only heard what sounded like one of those prank call bits from a pimp to what might have been a limo service or whatever. It made the rest of the staff sound like Rhodes scholars but I guess that's the kind of radio these shows do.

I listen to Howard Stern on Sirius. Then I'll typically tune in WINS Radio in New York. So I'll admit right now that local radio isn't heard much in my house these days. It gets turned on in the car for short spurts. Dan Yorke was yelling today about how other shows get more respect than his does. How he's been in the business 25 years. How he knows what he's doing and people INSIDE and OUTSIDE the building better start respecting him. Anyone who doesn't can just kiss his ass............. and that will just be the beginning. bla bla bla.... Just another conniption. Shut up Dan. Someone needs to stick a gas rag in your loud mouth.

What does Yorke have to do with the new morning shows in town?

Nothing. It was a bad segway on my part. But it did me an excuse to talk about how every time I tune in Yorke he's always having a screaming match with himself. The guy is a ticking time bomb.

The problem with the Big Boy Neighborhood is that Hot should be like JAMN which is a CHR station that plays R&B and hip hop. The Neighborhood is an urban show. It's a good one but the mass appeal isn't there like JAMN's morning show.
