New Morning Team Announced for Power 1051

From Tom Taylor's Radio-info.com 11/29/10 newsletter:

"New York's Power-ful new morning show on Clear Channel's urban WWPR-FM (105.1) is finally confirmed, as the other shoe drops following Ed Lover's exit. The show looks like this - Angela Yee from Sirius XM's Shade 45 channel, teamed with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy. (The show) starts in two weeks (Mon. Dec. 13, 2010)."

Angela Yee also does the "Rumor Reports" on DJ Envy's "People's Choice Top 20 Hitlist" on Sunday mornings from 8-10am on Power 105~1 and appears on MTV2's "Sucker Free" programs.

Charlamagne Tha God has previously co-hosted with Wendy Williams when she was heard on WBLS New York plus other syndicated stations. He was most recently in Philadelphia (on "100.3 The Beat") & South Carolina.

DJ Envy is the current afternoon (2-6pm) host on Power 105~1. He was previously on Hot 97 with Miss Jones in the morning, the "New At 2" segment weekdays and the Sunday morning countdown show.

Charlamagne tha God... hahahahahahahaha. Sometimes I find it hard to take my own industry seriously when names like that come along. Still not as bad as the worst offender of morning radio ever, "Free Beer and Hot Wings".

And if she really starts picking up steam, she'll shorten it to "CTG".

And since Charlemagne is a female, shouldn't it be "Goddess"?

So is DJ Envy's weekend countdown show on WWPR gone after a few weeks? And it looks like K. Foxx's countdown on WQHT is also gone with the station picking up the 106 and Park countdown.

Can anyone confirm that both these countdown shows are gone?

Thanks.

Both countdown shows (K. Foxx on Hot 97; DJ Envy on Power 105~1) were heard Sunday 12/5/10 from 10am-Noon. New time for the DJ Envy Top 20 Playlist (used to air Sundays from 8-10am). What used to be the "original" airing of K. Foxx's Hitlist on Hot 97 on Saturdays (from 8-10am) hasn't aired since the Saturday 106 & Park Top 20 show started airing in the 10am-Noon slot a couple of weeks ago. Now it just airs once in its regular Sunday morning slot.

Envy's Top 20 show likely will continue - he probably records it at some point during the week as he's most likely been doing previously. Envy also appears on Sirius Radio (http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conte...ius/Page&c=Channel&cid=1104779639862&s=person); currently scheduled from 5-10pm ET weekdays...we'll see if that holds now with his new morning wake-up time. He sometimes uses interviews he's done at Sirius as part of his Top 20 Power 105~1 show.

From Power 105~1's website: http://www.power1051fm.com/pages/onair/breakfast-club/?uri=channels/449330 and http://www.power1051fm.com/pages/breakfastclub.html

Morning show debuting on Monday 12/6/10 will be called "The Breakfast Club" - by seeing some postings on Facebook, it seems that maybe some promos/previews were running on WWPR 105.1 on Friday morning 12/3/10.

Thanks, pjc1961. Exactly what I needed to know. I guess I have two things to record while I'm at church now, lol.
