New Morning Voice at WTAG in Worcester

It looks like Clear Channel is doing some hiring these days as a new morning voice started today at WTAG AM 580 & FM 94.9 in Worcester. He is Jim Polito. According to Jim when he introduced himself this morning, he has a radio background but this is his first full time gig. Prior to accepting this position, Jim was the Chief Investigative Reporter at WGGB-TV in Springfield.

More from the WTAG website - http://www.wtag.com/pages/jim.html

George Brown, who has been filling in since Hank Stolz left the station last year, goes back to full time Program Director duties.

Jim Polito is good buddies with Jon O'Brien at WAQY Rock 102 in Springfield and Jim has been a sub co-host on Bax and O'Brien for a long time. He'll do great!

I didn't think CC would spend the money on a morning person because they
were getting more bang for their buck with Brown splitting his duties. A few
months ago there was a rumor that former WXLO/WCRN personality Frank
Foley was in line for the WTAG job. Wonder where he is now?

I hadn't heard about the Frank Foley to WTAG rumor. If they had hired him that would have been quite interesting seeing he would be going up against his former station WCRN. Frank was never at a loss for words and I'm sure he would have been a fun listen at WTAG.

The last I heard Frank was working for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority as a toll collector. With the money they make, why would he ever want to come back to radio?
:)
