New music for "The World." PLEASE!!!!???????!!!!!!!

FM 100 Means Music

I know I'm not the only one on here who finds the "drum beat" sounder that The World uses to be insanely irritating. Perhaps worst of all is the "full drum beat" used after the bottom-of-the-hour news update, and then it's repeated AGAIN after the sponsor read.

PLEASE GET NEW MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Call up WGBH and tell 'em you're not a fan of the theme music, and you feel it should be updated to something more modern. I doubt they'll change it solely because of your feelings, but who knows? Maybe you'll be the tipping point?

After all, several pubradio shows have changed their theme music at some point. ME and ATC have had several different versions over the years, for example. I know both Only a Game and Living on Earth have changed their themes at least once each, as well.

FWIW, I rather like The World's theme music. But that's just me. ;D
 
It's not as bad as APM's old post-Marketplace stinger. I remember Kai reading listener comments about the many near-car accidents the old stinger almost caused when the current stinger was introduced.
