New Music Show for Hot AC!

I wanted to let you know about a new show that I have been working on. It's called The Spotlight. It's a one hour new music show, geared for Hot AC stations (but could fit on Top 40, or Adult hits too, since it is a specialty show). I have two affiliates so far and our 1st show will air this weekend 1/28-1/29. The Spotlight is commercial free for now, with an option for 10 minutes of local avails. (At some point, we would like to air 4 mins of network spots in show) If you are looking for weekend content, I'd love to work together!

You can hear a demo at www.TheSpotlightRadio.com The show of course will evolve, but the plan is to play new hits from BIG names and also sprinkle in new songs by up and comers. Plus interviews and acoustic performances. Please contact me if you would like more info! [email protected]

This is a very good show, folks...WRSG just put it on tonight and it sounds GREAT! Do yourself a favor and give a listen!

Greg

Much appreciated! Thanks Greg!

This is right up the alley of the AC station I just put on Live365 called MusicRadio 102X though most of the stuff I have on is Indie Pop, you might find other stations playing the same stuff (I am working on adding more 90s & current mainstream stuff though)

Is it Live/Relay or is it just something that's pre-recorded? I can do either. I'll drop a follow-up Tweet

Cheers :D

Found the podcast but if I may offer one piece of advice that would be DO NOT split it up into segments. Listeners who might find your show via podcast directories (Or Pod-O-Matic itself) don't like it when they download incomplete episodes because you've chosen to (Bluntly put!) BUTCHER it by chopping it up into segments

It also doesn't make you look very professional either

As a broadcaster, I wouldn't mind piecing it together (That's no problem for me) but I'd much rather have a complete show in ONE download rather than having to sift through SEVERAL downloads. Add to the fact that Pod-O-Matic uses that unconventional file naming system they have, it's REALLY hard to figure out which one is Part One, which one is Part Two, etc

PLEASE do us all a favor & fix this dude

In the meantime, I'll try to piece together the first & current shows & add them to the station lineup (It won't be easy given the podcast host but I'll manage somehow)

Cheers :D

The Spotlight (like most syndicated shows) is in segments so that you can fill with local content, rejoins, commercials etc in between. I have not had one affiliate complain about this, as it is standard practice. The podcasts are not downloadable, as I don't use pod-o-matic for affiliates to find content. If you would like to air the show, contact me at [email protected] and I can let you know how the process works. Once again do not air the show by trying to record the podcats. You may only run the show with my permission.

Thanks.

Allow me to reiterate what I posted in late January...this is an EXCELLENT show. So much so that I air it THREE times a week (the first time at 5 p.m. on Friday, then later that night at 9, then finally 10 p.m. Sundays)-it is THAT GOOD! He sends both mp3 and wav files, which is rarely done. He is SUPER EASY to work with. Finally, he did not pay me to say this! ;D

Seriously, CHECK OUT THIS SHOW! I just wish that eventually he can do a two-hour show!

As to breaking the show into segments, I have absolutely no problem with this, and I download many shows during the week. It gives stations, even noncoms, the flexibility to add short and long-term psa's and promos. If he did a solid hour, we would lose this flexibility.

I'm north of age 55, yet Danny's music selection really appeals to me. Do yourself a huge favor and either listen to the podcast, or request to be an affiliate. Contact him at the email he provided; this was one of the easiest decisions I've made as our station's manager.

Wow! Thanks Greg! Well said and All true ;)
