NEW MUSIC STATION AT 94.9 !?

It was mentioned sometime ago that a new station may appearing soon on 94.9. I am getting a good signal and good music on that frequency now. I live near Hillcroft and Richmond, and the signal is pretty good, although not as strong as 99.1 for example. Doobie Bros., Paul Simon Earth Wind and Fire, Dave Clark 5 and Crosby Stills and Nash are some of the things I am hearing. No voices or ID so far. Just heard a jingle saying something like WFSA.

There have been no legal ID's. They have run WABC Jingles between some songs. We all should contact Roy Henderson (the owner) and ask him to keep the music like this. I hope they do something with this this facility, and it does not wind up becoming a another Spanish station.

Could very well be a stunt. 1090 did the same thing when it first returned to the air, running oldies and classic hits, until it was sold and became the brokered station it is now.

I can't confirm but I picked up K-love on 94.9 coming into work this morning near Austin. I was picking up Houston well and Victoria also.

The new station went off around 2am, and is still of as of this typing around 9:55am. I really hope they try and keep the station sounding the way it sounds now. We need a station like that here.

Heard a distant Spanish language morning show at 94.9 this morning. Not sure where it was coming from.

Most likely a catch of KQUR-Laredo, John. Spanish and English speaking station that plays English music from a wide array of genres. They seem to make quite a few appearances up this way. Of course, with the sign-on of KHTZ-Ganado on the same frequency, that's about to cease.

I've been checking pretty regularly for KHTZ to sign on. Pretty upset that I missed it.

Is there a K-love on 94.9 in and around the area? Wonder where I was catching that from? It seemed a few seconds off of KMLR Gonzales.

Possible... They must of been playing the same song as k-love when I picked them up.

It was Laredo this morning. I guess at some point they changed their format to Spanish language.

The nearest 94.9 K-Love is in TN, there is another in OH. Not counting translators which usually don't skip. I think it is very likely you were listening to KLTY, and they just happened to be playing the same song as the K-Love network.
