New NBC chief vows racier fare to boost ratings

CBS is doing good with the sitcoms and drama series with all the cursing going on.

In fact, they're doing so well, they've even got a program with a cussword (albeit edited) in the title!

It's not cursing unless the actual word is used even though the intent is clear.

Can't wait to see "Keith Olberman, Private Parts" or Jack Hanna's "When Animals Have Sex"! Is there a judge somewhere who could be persuaded to do "Naked Justice"?

In all seriousness, NBC would quickly climb back into prominence if they once again programmed quality shows as they did in the middle-to-late 90's. I realize these cost lots of money but the alternative is to become a cheese-ball "cable" outlet that very few people watch. They are clearly not going to remain one of the Big Four with tripe like "Big Loser" and the like.

The TV seasons are shorter, and no sooner do I discover a new show that I like they are yanking it off the air. It used to be that shows had at least 13 weeks before they got replaced and most got a full season. Now they show season enders in January. I have a life now, as a viewer I can't keep track of all the coming and going.

I don't watch reality shows, period.

Or even the middle-to-late '80s: "The Cosby Show," "Cheers," "Hill Street Blues," "The Golden Girls," "St. Elsewhere" (more a demographic hit), "L.A. Law," "Miami Vice," and probably a few I'm leaving out. As good as CBS's lineup at its peak around 1973,
when the Eye Network had nine of the top ten shows.
