I am pleased to announce a new addition to the KVOA-TV news staff. Kathleen Choal has been named as the station's News Director.
Kathleen brings with her a wealth of major market knowledge and experience to this position. Over the course of her 13-year career in broadcast journalism, she has held positions as a Reporter, Producer, Field Producer, Executive Producer, Assistant News Director and News Director in a variety of markets including Minneapolis, Houston, Atlanta and Denver.
Kathleen's expansive background in television news will be a great asset to KVOA's Eyewitness News 4.
She also brings a unique perspective on crime coverage as Kathleen is one of the few news managers in the country with a background in law enforcement.
Kathleen and her husband, Tim, have a seven month old daughter and they are now in the process of relocating to Tucson from a Phoenix suburb.
Kathleen's parents and her sister also call Arizona home.
Kathleen states, "I am thrilled to be joining a news staff with a long tradition of news excellence. I look forward to coming to KVOA-TV and the Eyewitness News 4 team. Kathleen's first day will be November 29th.
