CHANNEL 2 ANNOUNCES NEW NEWS DIRECTOR
JENNIFER RIGBY TAKES ON NEW ROLE
MARIAN PITTMAN NAMED NEWS DIRECTOR

ATLANTA (JUNE 29, 2006)
Bill Hoffman, VP and GM for WSB-TV, announced today that Jennifer Rigby will be stepping down as the News Director at WSB-TV and will be moving into a news consultant role for Cox television stations.
“Jennifer is well-positioned for this new assignment as she has served as News Director at two of our other properties, WHIO in Dayton and WPXI in Pittsburgh,” said Hoffman.
Rigby has 22 years of broadcast news experience working with ABC, NBC, as well as CBS affiliates. Her well rounded background and range of experiences will be missed at WSB-TV but will be put to good use in her new position.”
“As Jennifer moves into her new role, I am pleased to announce that Marian Pittman will be coming back to WSB-TV to take on the position of News Director,” continued Hoffman. “Marian comes to us after her impactful three year stay at our sister station WFTV/ABC in Orlando where she was the Assistant News Director.”
Pittman played an integral role in WFTV's news ratings come-back which culminated with its "defining moment," the Hurricanes and the summer of 2004.
While at WSB-TV Pittman held various positions over her seven year history, serving as 6 p.m. Producer, Nightbeat Executive Producer and finally, Senior Executive Producer prior to accepting the position in Orlando.
“Marian has a deep passion for WSB-TV and understands the special tradition that exists here,” added Hoffman. “A Cox television veteran, Marian has been with the company for 19 years and worked also at WSOC and WHIO.”
Pittman comes back home to Atlanta with her husband Damon and their daughter, Lucy, who just had her first birthday last week.
WSB-TV is a Cox Television Station and the top-rated local newscast in the Atlanta, Ga. television market.
About Cox Television: Cox Television includes 15 television stations, 3 national television sales representation firms, a television production company, and a Washington D.C. news office. Cox Television is a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, Inc., based in Atlanta.

Hoffman came from WFTV as well. Sounds like he pulled a few strings for this one.

I hope that some of the issues involving Rigby go away, in particular issues that led to Lynn Harrison's lawsuit, and the dismissal of Warren Savage just to name a few.

Ms. Pittman is going to have a big challenge coming up, with the impending retirement of Monica Kaufman next year, and possible John Pruitt's retirement sometime relatively soon.

First off, it's Harazin, not Harrison.

And Warren Savage wasn't dismissed. He walked out, on his own accord. He apparently didn't like anyone telling him that he actually needed to be in the building more than 5 minutes before airtime.

Its not Harazin. There is no Z in her name. Its Lynn Harasin.
