His name is Carson. I only heard very little of him, so I can't formulate a true opinion of him right now. He replaces Allison, who filled in at night when Lauren Rae moved back to middays after Nate West replaced the recently-departed John Morris in the mornings.
Re: New night jock at Y101...and Johnny O's leaving too
I didn't know this until moments ago, but Johnny O will now be the new afternoon guy at Q100 in Atlanta (which will switching frequencies soon with the soon-to-be-gone 99X):
Carson is a great jock and it was a pleasure to work with him at WJDQ. He's a great programmer and very smart too. Give him a minute or two to get his bearings, you'll see how creative this guy is in no time.
BTW, it's interesting that he was my replacement at 'JDQ when I moved to Fort Wayne and I wound up coming back to work with him as my PD.
I haven't talked to him about how he's feeling about that yet so I don't know if he's going to apply for it. If he did get it I would think he would move to afternoons. When he was hired as PD at 'JDQ he was on the night show but moved to afternoons when he got his PD stripes.
As for me, my radio days are over for now. I developed some issues that I needed (and still need) to take care of. However, I'm doing better and I'm planning to return to school in the fall. If I ever do radio again it'll be part time. I honestly have no desire to get back into full time radio.
Amazing contribution, Marcus. In fact, I'd call it just about as amazing as your on-air abilities.
NOTE TO ANYONE ELSE: Marcus can't stand Carson because Carson tried to make him play the game by the rules. I strongly advise taking anything Marcus posts about Carson (or WJDQ as a whole, for that matter) with a grain of salt.
