NEW non-com on the air in Waynesville, OH

Waynesville, Ohio, just outside Dayton has a new FM non-com station as 89.3 Hybrid FM, WYNS signed on three weeks ago. Format creator and operator, Chris Lash built the station a week following his wife Karen’s death.

The station features a format of AC and Country, with currents from both Radio and Records charts. “We teamed up with 24/7 Broadcasting to build the station, and have created something original. And the response has been tremendous.” said Lash. The new Hybrid FM features a downtown Waynesville Main Street studio. Lash who anchors mornings, will be joined afternoons by radio veteran Joe Benson, previously at WAMS in Wilmington, Delaware and most recently at KPRL, Paso Robles, California.

Lash previously owned and operated stations in Indiana, PA, Zephryhills, FL, Waynesboro, TN and Flagler Beach, FL

The station streams from the “Antique Capital of the Mid-West” at www.hybridfm.net

I wish Hybrid FM the best..Finally got to listen online on Monday after their server was back up. Not a bad sound for a little low power FM. More small community FMs must be made more affordable to stream.

Wanna thank Ross on Radio here on radio-info for the plug he gave to the station in his recent column!! 89.3 Hybrid FM, WYNS is doing very well. And we've added the Ohio Hayride, a show similar to the days of the Midwestern Hayride on WLWT TV.

I listen online on occasion to Hybrid..This is definitive locally owned/operated/originating homegrown community radio..(like WRPO at Indian Lake) Will start listening again now with Ohio Hayride now on the air.
More LPFMs (like Hybrid) need to audiostream to serve their areas better.

Hope I can make it down to that area again soon and listen on the air..am a huge fan of the Ohio Renaissance Festival (the Mudde Show,Minstrels of Mayhem,The Daring Devilinis and Laylia......OPAH!!!!)

They can also help promote the Sauerkrout Festival and the Renaissance Festival with live remotes.
