I used to be on here before it went to a new server, then my login stopped working, and I'd long since forgotten both my password and my old email address.
I got interested in radio as a chronic early riser at 10 years old or so.. and discovered I could listen to WNBC/WABC etc. when it was dark. My dad was a classical music fan and had spent a lot on a great FM radio that also rivalled a GE SuperRadio in AM reception, which I used to hear more out of town stations.
At age 16 I got involved with an effort to bring a new community radio station to Cincinnati, and was there the day it signed on, and stayed until I went to college. But I'd sworn off radio as a career when I saw how formatted the music stations had become.
Then while in college I started listening more to talk-oriented stations, especially Gary Burbank on 700WLW.
So I switched my major to Radio/TV/Film and got a part-time job in news at WLW, which turned full-time. After some years I went into TV. I'm now retired.
I still like to look at radio as a business. I just noticed some interesting local ratings... and that spurred me to sign up again for RD.
