New Oldies 99.3 Atkins-Russellville-Morrilton

Flipped from Spanish about a week ago. So far, just music, sweepers, and pre-recorded weather (no current temps.) But the music is dead-on. 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Cutoff seems to be 1984. I've heard "Break My Stride" and "Born in the USA", but nothing from 1985 or beyond. Going fairly deep on tracks, too. Rick Springfield's "What Kind of Fool Am I" is currently playing, for example.

Signal is good at my location in West Conway, although it gets a bit iffy over by the mall (East Conway) because of distance and encroachment by 99.5/Little Rock. Audio is strong and clear with plenty of punch.

Hopefully, this will work for them. It's nice to have an Oldies choice besides the fringe signals of KOLL and KFLI.

OK, so this is a very old post - but I was hesitant to reply until I had good news to report. Often, we in radio ballyhoo our flips long before they're deserving of any praise ... but I'm happy to report the station is doing well after a year (it made its budget for 2010 by August) and looks like we finally founds a good format for that frequency. We expanded the playlist to focus on 70s and 80s and came up with a novel way to sell it. Streaming at www.oldies993live.com.

Hi Rich,

I was pretty sure this would work out well for you. The music's good, the presentation's good, and the format is exclusive to this area. What's not to love? Congrats! Y'all do a great job over there (and with KVOM.)
