New Oldies Station - Again

WARM 590 in Scranton, Pa. is now running Scott Shannon's "True Oldies Channel". They tried to revive WARM's top 40 heritage a few years ago as "Doo-Woppin' Oldies" (no jocks) but then went to various talk formats. In the '60's & '70's, WARM was THE station in northeast Pa, but has had little success since FM dominated music radio.

WAMS 1260 am in Delaware just went oldies. They use ABC's Oldies Radio.

The "Mighty 590" was THE dominant Top 40 rocker in the late 50's in NE PA and SNY.

Re: Wilmington's WAMS

WAMS was Wilmington's Top 40 giant back in the day. They used to be on 1380. Today they are at 1260. They are using ABC radio's Oldies programming except for a live local show middays (weekdays) from 11am - 2pm. They plan on adding a second live show from 2pm to 6pm. Interestingly both jocks were former WAMS jocks from back when WAMS was the place all folks under 25 tuned in for their music. They also are streaming on line now at www.1260wams.com.
