New OM named in Cumulus Beaumont.

I don't see why this wouldn't belong on the Texas board.

I think it has relevance here. If a post concerned Bryan/College Station, roughly the same distance from Houston, I'd say it would belong on the Texas Board. But in this case you're talking about a market which has a number of stations that target the Houston market, two of which are owned by Cumulus (KHJK and KFNC). With that said, however, I don't see any major changes at either Jack or ESPN 97.5 as a result of the latest move.

In the past, on Radio-Info.com, i've seen topics that center around the Beaumont market. There are several Beaumont Cumulus employees that worked in Houston and there are a few Beaumont radio people and former radio people, who work in Houston. Some of what happens in Houston effects the Beaumont market. And, you can hear some Beaumont station(s) in Galveston. Therefore, I see nothing wrong with it being here.

If it'll take your panties out of a wad, i'll post it on the Texas board also.

It's a pretty big wad... don't know if I can do that for ya, sir. Got any scissors? ;D

Isn't there a different set of "management" for the Cumulus/Houston stations and the Cumulus/Beaumont stations? I thought KFNC, KHJK, and KRBE are all run by Houston while KQXY, KAYD, KTCX, KIKR, and KBED are controlled in Beaumont.

I'm not sure what the Cumulus local 'management' does anyway other than take orders from Atlanta.

From the sound of it, stan, that's about what happens here in Houston as well. Lookie there! We have found the common ground between Beaumont and Houston every one's been looking for. Nice job, stan! ;D

What local 'management' doesn't do what their upper management say to do?

If you work for McDonald's, you either make Big Macs or you take your happy a$$ home.

I'm sure the local Cumulus 'management' have bills to pay and it's not in their best intrest to go against what Atlanta asked them to do.

Just like at your job...if you didn't do or refused to do what your upper management asks you to do, youd be unemployed.
