ROBERTS, who was poolside for a few more days, still hard at work on his soon-to-be-fading FLORIDA tan, called ALL ACCESS to say, "For years, I have talked to JOHN and (Chairman, Pres./CEO) LEW DICKEY about joining the team at CUMULUS. This opportunity could not have come at a better time! I'm excited about a great future and the chance to raise the bar on ATLANTA radio. I'm also looking forward to teaming up with LESLIE FRAM and DYLAN SPRAGUE on two of the best radio brands in AMERICA

That's interesting. Under Roberts, Y100 had mediocre ratings. But it's been up against a powerhouse CHR rhythmic, Power 96 (WPOW-FM). So in a sense, the market was somewhat like Atlanta in that the station playing "all the hits" was competing against a station concentrating on one side of the CHR spectrum.

Wow ... Q100's new top of the hour:".... WWWQ College Park/Atlanta ... A CUMULUS station"they didn't waste any time for bragging rights or whatever. How petty.

Why is that petty? They paid millions for it. They're letting the agencies and DMs around town know that the transfer was made.

and it's on 99X's top of the hour too.Since when did their previous owners ever feel the need to say "WNNX Atlanta. A Susquehanna station".I have not worked in this industry since 1993, and never in Atlanta. That said, I've observed 99.7 since the 80s and also 100.5 ...... I don't know anything inside about Susquehanna or for that matter anyone else. But as an arm chair quarterback Susquehanna gave the appearance to me as being a little better than the typical ownership in this business .... no comment about Cheapulus.Susquehanna ... a cut above the typical owner .... except you might feel differently if you got a life threatening infection from participation in a station promotion ... and then was laid off. lol

Cumulus is adding it's stench at the top of the hour. Next the Dickey boys will **** on the walls to mark their territory.

This thread reminds me of an old Cynthia McKinney smear tactic: "Dont vote for my opponent. After all, he once worked for a corporation."

Cumulus always has their name in their ID's. All ID's change as soon as Cumulus acquires a station.
It doesn't happen too long after a takeover normally. The cluster I worked at that was overtaken by Cumulus started putting "A Cumulus Broadcasting station" in the legals on all the stations very quickly but all weren't changed until 3 weeks or so after the takeover. I've been told it's for stock purposes more than anything else. It makes potential investors as well as those who have already invested aware the company is out there as well as of which holdings the company has.
