My friend just signed a new beautiful music station online a couple of days ago called "The Oasis". It is based out of Tucson, AZ. The following is his description of the format:
"To an extent, I've modeled the programming after the late 80's type of stations (in the direction of Bonneville Ultra, Kalamusic, Drake Chanault/Galactic radio, Dream Radio, etc), although the station is not very vocal-heavy, and over half of the performances include a full orchestra. A somewhat unique element on the station is instrumental covers of current/recent hits (2-3 per hour). I also include a significant amount of smooth jazz in the programming."
