New Online Oldies Station For Greater Boston

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know of a new oldies station that me and my friends have been working on. It's called COOL-FM Worldwide (formally known as 87.9 The Wave). We have recently re-vamped the playlist to include hit's of the 60's, 70's, and 80's and have also added jingles and live shows (more coming soon). Let us know what you think by checking us out online at: http://www.coolfmworldwide.com. We're also on Tune-In (search: coolfmworldwide). Thanks!

Thank you vmorrison! All of our DJ's and staff are experienced in radio and know how to put out a good product. We're all really excited about whats to come (more shows, live remotes, free giveaways, etc). It's gonna be big! :)

I listened yesterday for about 2 hours and was very impressed. BTW, the first on air gig I had was at WMFO 91.5 I grew up down the street from Curtis Hall and in the summers during High School I used rip and read the news while the students were away for the summer.

Chris I'm just curious but how do you handle streaming royalties? I ask as I know this can be very difficult for the large groups and I wondered how the little guys manage it?

Thanks guys! And to answer your question about the royalties I'm not sure exactly how its done as I'm not the one who handles them but I do know that we're registered as a non-profit under our parent company New England Broadcasting. I think we also pay by the year instead of by the month but I'm not sure.

@VMorrison Funny you should bring up WMFO lol. I currently do a show there with my friend Danny Thursday's from 8-10 PM called The Lounge. They have a really nice state of the art studio there now. :)

Johnster,

There are actually a few very good companies who cater to reporting royalties for smaller broadcasters. Your listener stats are reported monthly and you're billed based on Total Listener Hours, Expenses, and Income. Depending on how many listeners you have and how much you spend/bill, your fees may range from $25 - $250 which is typical from small broadcasters.

I am a fan of WXEX (1540 AM Exeter NH 92.1 FM Sanford ME). The play a pretty good mix of 60s/70s/80s
