New Orleans North Shore

Has anyone heard from people on the North Shore. The news channels
keep talking about New Orleans but not much North Shore coverage
since Monday morning. I know there are a lot of radio people in
Slidell, Mandeville, Madisonville, Covington, Hammond, etc. What
has anyone heard? Also, is I-12 open?

I know this may not sound radio related but we've got several calls
from people wondering about their relatives. Hopefully this post can
remain. This board would be a good clearing house for Radio people to
share information right now.

The area seems to be a real communications black hole right now. CNN/NBC/Fox are syaing that they are not able to get much news in/out of the area. In particular, they have not been able to get into Slidell and have not heard anything out of Slidell and environs.

WWL-TV has gotten some video out of the northshore and it's as bad as the coast is basically... water washed a lot of the highway 11 area..but no way to get to northshore other than helecopter right now basically..... Or fight your way from BR

What I'm surprised about is almost no word on bayou area..took Guaranty to get back on the air to hear anything here....
