Anyone have any Predictions for New Orleans Radio in 2008?


Here's mine:

1 - Citadel dumps their cluster
2 - WIST 690 drops talk
3 - 99.5 drops talk


We'll see in a year if any come true. What are your thoughts?
 
As much as i hate to see it happen, I predict New Orleans will get its first FM hispanic station, otherwise same old song and dance. Yawn....
 
1. I think B97 should get some competition. I say Citadel needs to redo their entire cluster. Diva blow it up. KKND blow it up. These stations need new hip formats.
2. The new 99.5 FM should flip. It's a disaster. Ratings are horrible. These big companies think the only thing people in New Orleans want to hear are the news about Katrina. It's old.
3. I do think New Orleans will get a hispanic FM, that's just the market as it is right now. Its a shame we are turning into Houston.

The irony of course being that 1/3 of your population just moved to Houston.

Sorry Gerry, I beat you to it. When I was at WNOE in the '80s the a/c in the old building on Bienville would give up the ghost on a regular basis. I did several overnight shifts in my scivvies to beat the heat.

Then he would find me there doing my show in my tighty whiteys in the 90 degree heat. If he had any questions he would be free to inquire.

It's not like it would be 3 in the afternoon.

Why would 690 or 995 drop talk when they are the only ones with any national syndicated programs like boortz and savage and hannity ? All that is left after that apocalyptic devastation is 870 with 3 hours of rush ( yawn), and 1350 ? 1350 isn't even a channel what does 1350 even have on it.? Whenever i turn 1350 on i either hear somebody talking about food or discourse so boring a immediatly return to a syndicated program.

I was just at Danny & Clyde's and remembered last year seeing your poster in their window with a grin on your face as you were about to eagerly devour a Danny & Clyde's poboy that was about as long as a baseball bat. Was it good? Did you finish it all?

i sure did ! that picture frightened alot of folks ! the photo shoot was a riot...that pictures was one of the the many crazy poses i did.....i loved the one with my shirt over my head and stuffing the sandwich in the short....of course they didn't use it.....GV
