It's time for a new sticky. From now on, if you don't see a station on this list, it has returned to regular programming.
Radio:
AM
690 WTIX: off air, hopes to be back by December 1
870 WWL : normal programming*
1230 WBOK: off air
1350 WSMB: simulcast of WWL
1560 WSLA: off air
FM
88.3 WRBH: on air at very low power, broadcasting online at www.wrbh.org
89.1 WBSN: off air, but broadcasting online at www.lifesongs.com; hopes to be on at low power in December
91.5 WTUL: off air because of no access to studios; hopes to return by January
94.7 WOPR: returned to Dowdys from city of Slidell; sounds similar to old "Sunny 106.1" now**
104.5 KNOU: on air at very low power
105.3 WTKL: simulcast of WWL; confirmed to go oldies as "Kool 105.3" after URBNO ends
106.1 WKSY: Citadel assumes control, flips to "contemporary standards" as "Martini 106.1"
106.7 KKND: off air; hopes to return by December 15
TV:
6 WDSU: off air, currently broadcasting programming from 49/WPXL
12 WYES: off air, studios suffered major flood damage, hopes to return PBS satellite feed soon
20 WHNO: broadcasting LeSea satellite programming; studios suffered major flood damage
32 WLAE: on air via satellite and cable with looped programming, LPB, and live Sunday mass; studios suffered major damage
49 WPXL: simulcast of WDSU; regular Pax/i programming on DTV 49-1
DTV
6-1 WDSU: off air
6-2 WDSU Weather+: off air
8-1 WVUE: off air
12-1 WYES: off air
26-1 WGNO: off air
32-1 WLAE: off air
38-1 WNOL: off air
49-2 WPXL: SD feed of WGNO
49-3 WPXL: SD feed of WNOL
54-1 WUPL: bad stretched analog feed
* - No Rush, though. Bob and Vinny from Kool 105.3 currently handle shift.
** - I wonder why they haven't returned to simulcasting with 94.9. Also, they have the right calls on their legal ID, but not the right frequency. They say "WOPR, 94.9 (it's 94.7!), Lacombe-Slidell-Mandeville"
Some notes on the big companies:
Clear Channel: As of November 7th, returned to broadcasting from studios on Howard Avenue in New Orleans. Jocks are returning to regular shifts.
Entercom: As of November 17, returned to broadcasting from Dominion tower by Superdome. Jocks returning to regular shifts.
Citadel: Broadcasting from regular studios on St. Charles. Jocks returning to regular shifts.
WWL, WDSU: Both are broadcasting from their regular studios.
WVUE: Studios were flooded out with about 4-5 feet of water. It was ironic that on Fybush's site of the week on New Orleans, he predicted that all the others would flood, but not this one.
WGNO, WNOL: Currently working out of temporary offices in Covington. Newscasts are done remotely from places around New Orleans. Same situation as Entercom when it comes to moving back to New Orleans Centre.
______________
