New Owner of KAPS / KBRC in Mount Vernon

I wonder why so much more value placed upon KBRC? KAPS has a much better signal. They cannot be putting that much value on the 250 watt translator, can they?

Hey what about the the FM translator...amazing that a bunch of old desks and crappy building would be worth that much..... ???

LOL NWBobby- so what gives? Have you had access to their books or something? The Keans have made a nice living with KAPS (Standalone) and KBRC (recently added to their arsenal) over the years. Tell us all what you know... please???? I'm dying to know...............................

Finally, the Skagit Valley stations are going to be taken care of and things done right. DeMio is top-flight and a proven winner, believes in local radio and making it successful.

As for the FM Translator, it is located in Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island. Honestly, KBRC doesn't need the translator. I know a station in Oak Harbor who really needs it, KWDB AM 1110. They have been a daytimer since their inception (originally KISD / KJTT) in 1985. If something can be done, KWDB can be 24 hours and much needed for the communities on Whidbey Island and the surrounding areas. Just a thought, duh!

The translator is licensed to Camano. It is located east of Oak Harbor. The translator contour is much smaller than the KBRC daytime contour, but very helpful nighttime.

I never understood why 1090 in Seattle didn't try to stop 1110 in the first place.

Oak Harbor has a vacant FM allotment (103.3 I think). One of these days that will appear on an FCC FM auction.
