New, part 15 (really!) FM station for NEPA

I'm putting on, as an experiment for the New Jersey Radio Museum, a part 15 FM station in the Honesdale/Hamlin area.................................Plan is to have it on in one to two weeks from now, evenings only........So, if you are driving by in this area, try 97.7FM and see if you hear Classic Rock music. If so, you may have heard this station......................................Being part 15, and the antenna is very shielded, I don't expect many to hear it beyond 1/2 a mile from my house, but if you do hear it, the calls will be WCRV.............................The station is an experiment to see how well it will broadcast and will be ultimately installed at the New Jersey Radio Museum in Dover, NJ (85 miles from here).Reception reports welcome at [email protected]ks all, Carl
______________

Just a quick comment... Maybe I'm being overly paranoid but the FCC may not like the "false and deceptive station ID" by using someone's call letters for a non-licensed station, even though it's a "legal" Part 15 rig. If it were me, and again I might be overly paranoid, I'd use a moniker instead. Why not "Classic Rock 97-7" or something like that. I don't believe anyone would have a problem since the call letters are licensed to WCRV 640AM, Collierville, TN but then again if someone wants to make trouble....

Just my 2¢

Just off the top of my head at 2:25 a.m., when I should be in bed, if the station is legally unlicensed and doesn't get down the street, maybe it doesn't matter what callsign Carl uses. If it were the same as a local operation, that would be different. But something out of town (especially in Hooterville, or wherever that station is -- oddly enough, on a carrier-current freq itself), I doubt anyone will little note nor long remember.
______________

Well then, I guess I'm just paranoid.:eek:}

I never said it was. I noted, as an interesting and coincidental aside, that it's on what was (and may still be) a carrier-current freq. This, related to the Part 15 use up here, kinda the same thing. Only a, "huh; how about that," remark.

I'm sure that all of us who ran bootleg neighborhood stations appropriated calls from far off, back in the days when stations actually used call signs, rather than the "anything but" attitude of today.
______________
