New Part 15 Station

Meh no one prolly cares ::) but ive set up a new Part 15 Station.
Scheduled to hit the air waves as soon as im done building it.
1610 AM is by far the best Freq on AM you can possibly find.
Mainly because its Completely dead Day and Night.

So Look For 1610 AM on your Dial...
1600 AM can kiss my rear... They dont interfere anyway...

Format is Rock. With Some Country on Selected days And Oldies on Selected days.
Talk Shows might also be added. ALong with... LOCAL NEWS!!!!!
Also some comedy might be throw in there

AND

Smooth Jazz on Sunday All Day

Very cool! I live near D/FW Airport... Will I be able to pick it up? If so, I will certainly listen... even volunteer to help out if need be. 8)

Too bad the FCC doesn't give AMs the channel 5 and 6 TV band and then later on give the current AM back to everyone that wants to play radio. It's good enough for those of us that either actually have a LOVE for radio or have an axe to grind (religious, political, etc.) As a viable, useful band for commercial broadcast service, its days are numbered. Too bad the FCC doesn't have a brain in their head enough to see that NOW would be a great time to migrate the current AM service elsewhere where it actually will work.

I second that opinion. I've been thinking for a long time now...everybody sez AM is dying. When y'all are done with it, and everyone's moved out, can I have the 530-1710 band for something more meaningful than 100mw? I'll have a bigger xmittr built up in an evening. I know someone will still have an AM radio.
At 33% efficiency, I am ready to spend 500 watts in for 150 out. I have the parts and design ready....
New part 15 AM 1620 aircheck will be posted on Pod-o-matic later saturday ( No 17). I'll put a link on the board for podcast/internet.

i will be there in mid-april,
if i may help, volunteer, or heck
*have a show..hmm, * contact me,
via - this forum, (messaging service) and
maybe , well we can see what we can do.

this includes, *FREE* yea, free voice over work.
am i good enuff, for market 5ive, well it's free,
u get what u pay for !!!

1610am:

since, u will be oldies, one day,
rock the next, and oh yea,
country...let's not forget talk,too..

simply call it channel 16.

that's my 2cents : )
but i think that will be the best FIT for your station!!!

For those who don't know much about part 15 AM, it can get a mile or 2 with someone that knows how to set it up properly. There have been stories of people getting a little more than that, but they probably lived somewhere with good soil, had the antenna really high up, and obviously knew what they were doing. So unless you live in Mckinney, I wouldn't plan on picking it up. The most I have got out of my part 15 am station is 1/4 a mile. I can only get the ground lead halfway in the ground which contributes to my crappy signal though. Good luck with it.

Why not connect your ground to an outdoor water or gas pipe?

The only pipe I can find sticking out if the ground is pvc pipe. :-\

Mon-Rock
