New partner for Phathead on WMJC

and I'm not talking about the fact that Phathead is a newlywed.

It is now the WMJC Most Music Morning Show with Phathead, Leeana & Cande Roth

Anybody know anything about Leeana?
 
Leeana was most recently and probably still doing weekends and fill ins at Barnstable's Oldies B103. She is a good jock with a nice upbeat delivery. I hope she does well in her new gig there !!!
 
Leanna started out on Party 105.3 about 5 years ago. She has a fun, upbeat voice and attitude with lots of energy and will be a great morning show addition. IIRC she was paired off with Ballistic Bob and did a great job. My own opinion, excellent move.

She's been doing the traffic on the show for a long time now. I think she works for Shadow/Metro Traffic. Phathead also converses with her when doing his entertainment reports, such as "The Bald and the Beautiful".
 
Leeana is great! I loved her on B103 and now I love her on MJC. Shes funny, happy and shes cute as hell!!! Great addition!
 
Who cares? Honestly, there is about 12 people listening to WMJC. Why is there so much time wasted on this board talking about stations and shows that do not matter?

How about talking about things that matter?

The Sale of WALK to Cumulus?
Will Cumulus make any drastic changes if indeed they do come in?
The Continued success of Mark & Cindy?
BAB having a great Book?
Roger & JP having huge numbers?
The changes at BLI's Morning Show
How the city firings will effect Long Island radio?

Come on...I've read the postings and I know that there can be some really intelligent conversations here, but honestly, I think we need to raise the bar a little. I think Phathead got a 0.6 12+ in the winter book and someone actually took the time to talk about a new member of the show? It's a non issue.
 
Fact is no matter who they put on that station, Malibu Sue, Rob Rush or even further back to the start, with the Country leftovers, nobody can show any success at that station, other than the sales dept. From day one, they were wrong, the 80's were not about one kind of music, in Islands case, New Wave and Rock Dance Pop. The 80's had many kinds of enjoyable music, all of which they could have played. The one thing that remains the same at Island, and they have had a few AM drive guys, a few pd's and many afternoon drivers as well, the one thing that remains the same, upper management. I still think they rely on a consultant, who doesnt know that the NY area back in the 80s was a hot bed for music, much like Detriot in the 60s.
But for a sales and marketing business, Island 943 is great, problem is its looked upon as a radio station!

Island 94.3, or, ahem, WMJC, is arguably Long Island's version of PLJ, in that both play similar music that gets lousy overall ratings, but I guess reaches just enough of their target demo to get enough sales and billing to justify the operation. I don't think anything every really did too well on 94.3, though I think their current 0.6 is about as bad as it's gotten.
 
I was just checking out WMJC's website and noticed that Leanna's name is off the morning show page. Anyone know when or why the change?
