New PD At Alice...

This clumsy and confusing newsblurb here on our own Radio-Info.com front page today:

San Fran's "Sophie" & "Alice" to both be run by Charese Fruge

Charese calls it "the opportunity to run two of the most unique and important radio stations in the country", as CBS taps the current "Sophie" KSCF-FM (103.7) programmer as PD of San Francisco sister-station "[email protected]" KLLC-FM. Current Alice PD Mike Preston will continue as VP/Programming in San Francisco, overseeing KCBS (740), KFRC (106.9), and "Movin'" KMVQ (99.7).

Is KKSF now part of CBS ... as Sophie/KSCF? Or did someone stumble over a news tidbit? Or am I just not paying attention.

(Pick C! Pick C!)

I assume you're kidding DJ. If not, let me tell you about two great new innovations. One is called
the "internet" and the other is "search engines" of which the most popular is called "Google." ;D. My thirty second use the said innovations revealed that "Sophie @ 103.7" is a radio station in San Diego. Apparently it is San Diego's home for the "now. new.next.". Be still, my heart.

A radio station with a woman's name? How odd. A little further googling reveals that KSCF used to be San Diego's "Free FM," Apparently Free FM was a flop there. Imagine that...

GEE, I wonder if they have a morning show with "Lara & Lenny" ?

Sophie, Alice, Minerva, Prunella...All those women look and sound the same anyway... ;)

BTW DJ, Paying attention to CBS Programing will give you a headache.

I'm thinking all radio stations should have human names - tailored to the format. KISQ could be Aretha @ 98.1; KOIT could become Celine @ 96.5; KSFO should be Adolf @ 560, and KNGY would be Lance @ 92.7.

Now that I've thoroughly embarrassed myself, I'm going to lie down...

well, hell, they have radio stations named JACK, so...
Blame it on the hurricane name thing.

I was in San Diego and thought Sophie was wonderful. Much better than that wimpy Jill stuff, eeeuw.

What about the PD situation at KYLD?

Now that Alice has a new PD, any new devolopments on who will take the PD chair at KYLD?
I also noticed that The T-Man Show has not been on in three weeks. Any word on his status at WiLD?

Sophie has a 1.0 share in San Diego, so it makes since to hire her to the CBS Family in San Fran that's used to 1.0 share radio.
