New PD at Coast a Familiar Face

Oh please how can you compare Y100 to Q100 and Power to Star 94?

This IS an interesting move for Coast. I still wanna know who is doing the programming over there now because the creative sweepers and more upbeat music does not sound like the Coast of old. Anyone think its a corporate guy? Some changes are going on at Coast before Calococci even enters the building.

I wouldn't dare compare Star to Power and Q to Y; I just thought the joke was relevant nowadays with the change in sound for COASTa dn now there's Coast, MIA, Y-100, Power, etc.

I remember when 97.3 went back to sleep as COAST in 1990 after 5 years as rocker GTR and before that, 97 A1A.

There's gold in those Top 40 hills!
 
Interesting move.

Hopefully Tom has learned from his mistakes at Power and will do some great things with Coast. I wish him well. Looks like Coast is heading into the CHR world.

Acording to sources at Cox, Gary Williams is still PD over seeing the day to day of Coast and will move into an OM position for Coast and Easy once Tom arrives.

Looks like Alex at CC will be facing some tough competition.
 
yeah A1A was a good station back in the day. but i don't think that "coast is toast" at all. if they go up against Y100, clear channel will put all their marketing dollars into protecting their baby.
 
ive been listening to the toast all day they are borderline chr/ hot ac right now... im very impressed the sound is very refreshing
 
I spoke with a friend who works for a client of Coast and the station has promoted Derek Pitts to be APD for Coast and he has been making all the music changes and doing all the creative new station sweepers.

I heard one today that asked who says they can't have fun on 97.3. You can definitely tell a difference in the station compared to last year when even the sweepers make fun of themselves.
