I will count them out, because an FM station that was once cuming over 200,000 listeners per week that now can't get 30,000 is not living up to its potential. To say they're beating WSAI is like saying I can beat my grandmother in a foot race. Really something to be proud of. I know all about ratings and sports stations. Yeah, yeah. Low rated stations can still make money. But this low rated station has a bad product.
The Fan's days are numbered. Radio One can't let this continue. Just think of how much revenue they've lost in the 6 and a half months they've been doing this format.

Which is why I scratch my head at Radio One's decision to flip Mojo 100.3 to The Fan. Sports talk is not a format they are experienced at implementing and running successfully. There is no need for 3 sports talk stations when you have Clear Channel airing every local major sport franchise on their station cluster.

But have to admit that I rarely listen much outside of the local shows in morning and afternoon drive. I think Tom Gamble is genuinely funny and he makes me laugh out loud at least once every morning in the car.
My biggest issue with the station is that they seem very NKy-centric. Why don't they ever broadcast live from some of the sports bars in the northern or eastern burbs? Or even downtown? And why don't they do billboards or something else to promote themselves? Maybe I'm old school. And I get the social media thing. But it still seems to me that they are not getting the word out about themselves enough. Nobody that I know is even aware that they exist.
Am also surprised by how limited their signal is. Since I never listened to 100.3 when they were MOJO, I am now realizing how quickly you begin to experience flutter with this signal when outside of Hamilton County. And on the north side a country station (Newark, OH???) frequently jumps in and out. I realize this is not a full power FM, but it definitely seems more "hemmed in" than some of the other Class A, B1, or whatevers around here (97.3, 97.7, 101.1).
