If radio had a bright future, why have salaries gone down? Ad rates? The pool of interested advertisers? Employee counts? INTEREST?

You know I usually agree with you, Mike, but you've just described almost every business in this country in this economy. Radio dead? Nah, just waaaay behind in figuring out how to evolve.

I wish CBS would buy The Ticket, that way The Ticket could be treated like the kings they are. Put money into a product and you'll make it back ten fold. They might be winning the ratings, but put them on a strong FM station and they are bound to make someone tons of money. When it all comes down to it, it's all about money.

Now that's funny. Talent and CBS are like oil and water.

CBS is best used as a negotiating ploy and that is about it. Kidd has done it a couple of times over the years with 103.7. And Gordon Keith and the Hardline have used 105.3 as leverage as well.

None of them have ever been fool enough to jump ship for CBS, though.

If CBS buying the Ticket were ever an option, 105.3 never would've flipped.

Like I've said before, CBS is hell-bent on having a sports station in a top-5 market. Buying KTCK would've been an easy solution and considering Cumulus' troubles, would've probably been the better option for both parties. But KTCK may be the last cash cow Cumulus has remaining, so that's off the table.
