New radio networks by Clear Channel?

Clear Channel keeps giving local DJs across the country the pink slip--including the Quad Cities. Here, we have six stations. It appears like the DJs have been replaced by what sounds to be a radio network. What gave me this idea was that I logged on to 1013kuul.com to see the "last ten played" songs. Then I logged onto kool108.com (KQQL Minneapolis) and discovered the same songs in the same section! Makes me wonder what other Clear Channel stations are in on this?

Cue voice talent (Vincent Price sound alike, cant afford the real thing):

Dr. Eeeeeeviiiiiils plan for world, I mean, radio domination:

Phase one: buy up all the radio stations, fire all humans- Check
Phase two: program all the radio stations the same- Double Check
Phase three: ?????????????

Be afraid, be verrrrrry afraid :'(

SFX: spooky, creepy, squeaking door closing...

I think that transmitter manufacturers are working on new models that just have an iPod slot on the front panel. ;D

WVBZ (100.3 The Buzz) in Greensboro, NC and WKLS (Project 9-6-1) in Atlanta, GA are identical and have been for the past couple days

I can't believe it. I was on vacation in Florida last week, and turned the TV on to the local Fox TV station. To my shock and amazement, they were airing American Idol! I thought that show was local! How could it be that my local TV station was airing the exact same show as a station in Florida? And later that night, another local TV station was running Jay Leno! They're perpetuating a hoax of being a local station while carrying shows obviously available nationally. There must be something illegal about this.

Obviously, radio has no moral imperative to be local. TV has always , for the most part, been network. Usually local TV sucked ( my opinion) and I think the networks were and are much better. Radio , however, became local and over the years after WWll , became the voice of the spirit of their communities. WMNC was Morganton NC, WSM was Nashville, KDKA was Pittsburgh, and certainly nobody said NOO York better than WNEW AM, WABC, and WMCA. It's just a matter of what the people expected.
