New Radio Station for Oshawa/Toronto?

According to this link:

www.lifeonline.fm/oshawa_durham/index.php

A new Christian music station "is coming to Oshawa".
It will be owned and operated by Trust Communications Ministries, the same people who brought Christain music radio to Barrie Ontario. (Life 100.3 FM)

If CRTC aproves it, the station will serve serve Oshawa, but their signal will most likely be heard in Toronto as well.

Note: It'll be a NEW radio station. NOT a Life 100.3 FM repeater, and aparantly, it will also have a different name. One that they won't release until...most likely, the day the station signs on.

That's a very good question. I think they plan to use 100.3, but I'm not sure.
______________

I'd say 103.9 or 101.7, but 103.9 would be next to Z103dot5.

Doesn't matter. They are an Orangeville station, and a station in Oshawa/Toronto is nowhere close to their protected contours. Technically, the Toronto market should not be their concern.

Orangeville eh? Where's the tower? Z103 is broadcasting in Toronto near Islington Subway Station. They do Toronto news, weather and traffic in the morning. Nothing Orangeville about them...except...
______________

Their city of licence is Orangeville, and their antenna is somewhere in that nature reservation/valley moraine thing up there.

Their tower, and city of licence. Sad, Really. Their licence should be revolked, but Aparantly, Orangeville is Toronto, much like how Barrie is Toronto.( www.a-channel.com for example ) It now says Toronto/Barrie, but when the switch was originally made, the website only said Toronto.
It should only read "Barrie"

I guess if CRTC were in Toronto, they'd think Ottawa has a Jack...oops bad X-ample...never mind. (-:
______________

Yep, same deal with Global's CIII Paris. Although apparently since I filed a complaint with the CRTC about their Toronto-centric approach, they've beefed up their content from Waterloo Region - and the CIII transmitter might even be in Waterloo Region technically, as it is on the same tower as some Kitchener-licensed transmitters. I have heard that Global falsified some records on their "regional" news coverage several years ago and got caught by the CRTC around the time of their license renewal, so now that the CRTC has a complaint on file which may come into play during the next CIII renewal in 2008, Global may be left with little or no choice to increase their content from the area close to Paris. That could mean more reports from CHCH as well, as they cover the Brantford/Paris area.

Ummm, Global now considers its flagship transmitter to be Channel 41 on the CN Tower, which makes it a Toronto station de jure as well as de facto...although since it's also now legally a national network equivalent to CTV, that may be a moot point.

They still have community obligations.
