New Ratings Out!

The latest has WDSY finally passing KDKA. Good thing they made that PD change.

Maybe its finally time that LTJ, The X and Star consider a format change.

And I don't know if even Scott Paulsen can help 93.7.

And WDSY is only going to increase its lead.

I don't particularly think this is a great time for country music- a few exceptions of course (Love "That's How They Do It in Dixie" by Hank Jr.)- but we are just coming out of a great political time- which is why 104.7 is No. 4.

Format change for The X? I think instead maybe a bit of an overestimation of Tim Benz' draw- both on WBGG and The X.

Meanwhile- his old station has done nothing but get better in the ratings.

Couple of points here- first off I have often stated that Pittsburgh is a rock and roll town. So before you want to change the formats of The X and K-Rock- consider if the city is best served with only one rock station.

That makes no sense whatsoever to me. It doesn't make any sense to me to let Clear Channel have all the rock programming, either, and change K-Rock to some other format.

The X doesn't need a format change. They just need what is considered alternative/modern rock to start sucking less. Unfortunately, they don't have that power. It's getting there, but not nearly fast enough.

WLTJ actually went up in the ratings. Here's my question. Is the christmas music so good on WLTJ or is their current format that bad?

Maybe it's a little bit of both.

Just like i said an average listener don't care about ratings why should you guys care. I only listen cause i like the music they play. :)

LTJ's format is that bad.

Actually, there's nothing wrong with WLTJ's format. Playing "lite" sounding rock songs, mostly vintage recordings, is an excellent format. It could be very successful if they'd do a better job of picking the right mix of "lite" songs. They don't need to change their format, they only need to execute it better.

You're right about that in that the average listener doesn't care what the ratings say, but they are important. If you don't have ratings, you don't have a radio station so if you like a station and they have bad ratings, they won't be around long.

Plain and simple, ratings equals money, and money is what makes the world go 'round.

A prime example of that (and I'm not picking on you) is KROCK. Come April when Paulson comes in, there will be no music on KROCK. It will be all talk. And why is that? It's because the ratings are bad.

So even though you and a number of people like that station, it will be gone because of bad ratings.

Hey you know what. When krock dies I will not be listening cause i found my version of dve called rocky99.

Read today that O&A's ratings are really tanking, and are now around David Lee Roths numbers. Wonder if DLR could/would've stayed around a little longer if he'd co-operated?

Pittsburgh will perhaps drop them but do you think they'll hang on nationally? I've given their show numerous 'chances' to win me over, but they have dissapointed, with no funny and little entertainment.

Since O'riley's gone, is there even a DJ on the weekend? I heard a new girl on daylight Sunday...

Any word where Bob will end up?
