Someone needs to tell Hurricane Dave, PD at Hot 107.9, that because he is on Facebook saying his station has beat V103 for a second book in a row and Hot is number one in the 18-49 demo. And he promises a 3-peat, if that's possible.

That's a shame he is the PD doesn't even know the demo breakdown, LMAO. Yeah, Hot is #1 with 18-34, but it's #3 (tied with Q-100) when it comes to the 18-49 demo. If Radio One was a smart as they would be trying to figure out a way to win the 18-49 year olds because that is where the revenue flow and the ratings truly lies.

However, the problems with this market is most 18-49 year olds like contemporary hip-hop and R&B along with the urban classics hence why V-103 is able to beat them. The latter is what Hot tends to avoid, thus the upper portion of that significant demo generally is averse to the station's musical choices.

Check out WEQX if you want the more indie/independent mixed with top alt rock bands.

Definately like WEQX, but I was using iHeart radio's app and stumbled upon a surprisingly great station for new alt rock. It sounds cheesy, but Supercuts' Rock the Cut Radio: Alt Rock plays a largley commercial free (except for their own ad here and there) that has today's top alt hits and a huge variety of bands that I had never heard before. Of course, you sacrifice any classic alt, but it's nice to hear a lot of new music without sounding as repetative as other stations.

Power is not doing that well. Here is a suggestion:
-transfer Radio 1057 back to 96.1fm and call it Radio 96.1
-change 105.3fm to Wired 1053- ATL's party station (rythmic top 40)
-use 92.3fm as translator
-change 105.7fm to El Patron 105.7 (and maybe use 96.7fm as a simulcast)
Maybe if CC did this, they would actually be doing well in the ATL market.

Power seems to be slow to add new material (if at all) but they can find a grade B song they love and wear it out real fast......a bit out of focus IMO.

1. Isn't 92.3 already a translator?
2. Wild billed horribly, why would CC give rhythmic another chance?
3. I would agree with Patron on 105.7 (or Jack on 105.3 and killing Patron altogether), but CC is gonna stand by Power. They love CHR. If only they could program it like their other top ten markets....

Normally I would agree with you. But, lately Power has been sounding better. And for several weeks now, they have been playing the new One Republic, they were first at playing the new Eminem song "Monster". Plus, new Pitbull/Ke$ha, FloRida, Travie McCoy f/Jason Mraz, Camryn and Cher Lloyd, etc. Plus, all the new EDM tracks they play on Sunday nights. Granted, a 3.2 rating isn't great but, it's not TERRIBLE. They need to be live and local in the evenings again. Hopefully, voicetracked Nessa is only temporary. Just my two cents.

i might be wrong, but i believe STREETZ is #9, compared to HOT #1 and V103 #2 in the 18-34.
