The new format of the Ricki Lake Show was not as popular as her old raunchy 1993-2004 format and as of yesterday, the show as been axed by 20th Television. Production ends March 28th with new episodes going on until June and then repeats of her show continue until September.

Persoanlly, I thought the new format of her show wasn't really that bad, but obviously the syndication market is just too crowded.

I thought she did a great job with the new approach. However, I have a feeling she'll be back doing another project since I don't see her staying unemployed for long.

I really did think she did well, but I think that the demographics in this era are more in a variety and that higher personalities needed more spark in getting interviewers. Some stations downgraded Ricki's show in the Bay Area it once aired at 4 PM, but now its on at 4 AM on KBCW.

This can't be good news for Arsenio's new show. Are people finally figuring out that the 90's are over? ???

meanwhile here in Minneapolis she is on TWICE a day
Noon on Fox 9
9AM (I think) on My29 on either a one day or 1 week delay (I dont know)

Both owned by Fox...wonder if they do that in other markets
They do the same thing to Wendy....11AM on Fox 9 and 8AM on My29

And given this news, it'll probably end up moving to a time slot between 2 and 5 AM real soon... :D

"Are people finally figuring out that the '90s are over?"

Actually, it's the '80s that are over (ended in 2010.) We still have about seven years, 10 months and three weeks left before the '90s are over, so you can be assured you'll see more garbage like this getting rehashed over that period.

Check back with me at this point in 2020 and we'll compare notes; I think I'll probably be 37 by that time.
