Thanks for the update and the link. Amazing how fast some things can move in Washington, DC. maybe some elected officials could pay attention and get things working a bit faster in other areas. lol...sure they will!

That's what really counts right now.
Giacomo Siffredi said:Hey pjc1961, please explain what you mean by "occasionally weak stereo" AFAIK, the signal is either stereo or mono. Of course, the signal could be stereo, yet be a mono feed. Haven't heard that terminology before...
erwin33 said:Strange is that sometimes it sounds fake stereo and sometimes it's with stereo effects and wide, like all the music stations. Don't know what they doing everytime with the playout or on the controls but that needs to be fixed.

And they have liners saying "we're playing Alternative again", making it sound like they're trying to pick up where WRXP left off. But in that case, why not just call it WRXP, or "New York's Rock Experience" again? Or does Emmis still hold the rights to that name? According to FCCInfo, there is no station currently using the call letters WRXP, so they didn't "park" it on another station.
NYC has a long history of bringing back old call letters and slogans -- K-Rock, WPLJ, CBS-FM, WNEW, WKTU, WNSR, and WYNY, just to name a few -- so they should bring the WRXP call letters back to 101.9.
WNTIRadio said:If they're still using the Omnia.6 there's no reason to go to ESB to adjust it. You can remote in to them from anywhere as long as there's an internet connection. I'll assume that there's internet at all the TX sites there.
Grab a preset from the other rock station they own and load it up. Switch to the "Rock n Roll" preset that's the default on any Omnia.6. Anything. It's distorted, over driven and over clipped. The bass is mud, and the highs are frying like eggs on the sidewalk. Download the CG Smooth preset and start with that if you don't want it to be smashed.
If they don't have an engineer, I know of one they could hire (he happens to be typing right now) that can get it sounding great within an hour... at least in the ballpark and then minor tweaks from there.
What I know is, they using an Omnia 8x. http://myemail.constantcontact.com/...-Axia.html?soid=1101974188054&aid=chComaLqnxA

The Omnia 8x is only a streaming processor.
Last I knew, there was a 6 there when it was RXP and it was tuned up by Paul Sanchez, again, when it was RXP. That's why RXP had good audio. That's also why WBLS has excellent audio now too. Follow Paul and you'll hear good audio.
I've never heard anything so bad in a market #1 in my life. Even in an unrated market, I haven't heard audio this bad in a long time.
