Treasure Coast New Rock Station from Okeechobee: WQCO

Without any fanfare (not sure when it signed on), Indian River State College's new station, non-commercial WQCO-90.5/Okeechobee, is broadcasting a rock format, promoting itself as "Lake O's Rock Variety." It is being simulcast on one of IRSC's other stations, WQJS-88.5/Clewiston. WQJS has a limited range, licensed to Clewiston at the southern tip of Lake Okeechobee; its signal does not reach the West Palm Beach or Fort Pierce markets. However, the new WQCO, licensed to Okeechobee at the northern end of the Lake, is listenable in Port St. Lucie and other parts of the Treasure Coast.
