New Rock vs The Shark

Surprised they aren't telling people to tune to 105.5 DHA in NJ or 92.7/96.9 WRRV or something. I don't get it. 94.3 doesn't even cover any area RXP does. DHA should really increase their signal into Northern NJ and all of NYC area, but be licensed to NJ though still in Morris County.

DHA can't do much more than it already has. It actually puts out a very good signal, all things considered.

Not to mention that the Shark sounds like K-Rock circa 2000 without any hint of playing newer music. That station isn't that similar to what 101.9 has been playing.

I agree, I do not see any new music on the playlist. They are more of a general rock format, like AOR. The station is closer to RXP's format in the last few months of last year. It is not anything like the current incarnation of RXP.

In retaliation, New Rock's rants can be seen here with a recent image of "Welcome To Queens, can anyone hear 94.3 The Shark? Because we can't."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that's New Rock 101.9's official page. I know the one they had before was taken down right after the sale was announced.

Right, there is a 105.5 in Danbury, CT which is too close. DHA doesn't put out a good signal to the East because they are blocked by the mountain in West Orange. I always laugh when people suggest a station should increase their power. If they were able to so don't you think they would already be doing that???

Okay so New Rock 2 lol. Yes this is the "save new rock" page.

As my grandfather used to say, "If a frog had wings, he wouldn't wear his ass out hopping on the ground".

101.9 isn't exactly pushing people into The Shark, that spot runs in stopsets, it's an ad.

Connoisseur Media is paying Merlin to promote the 94.3 Shark on WRXP. So far Greater Media has chosen not to do the same for 105.5 WDHA or 95.9 WRAT.

I'm guessing that WDHA feels that they're well-established and well-rated enough that they don't need the extra push. (And The Rat isn't really in WRXP's coverage area.) Whereas The Shark is a new kid on the block and can probably stand to capitalize on the loss of New Rock 101.9.
