MOM upsidedown...WOW!

So you must lean a little on the CHR side with cuits like Nelly, Flo Rida, and Biggie....

Do you stream? I;'m interested to hear how these are presented.

Doctor Radio's station is a CHR with a VERY wide, but cool playlist.

That's really great that you can do that! How does the advertising community view your station?

Have you had to overcome any obstacles in being a radical station?

You wouldn't to have a web address would you?

I just call it a wannabe CHR with a playlist as wide as the Grand Canyon.
Doctor Radio's station that he is the MD of lost its focus around 2002. Very sloppy sounding station.
It can't decide whether it's a CHR, Hot AC, or alternative.

They're known to alienate their P-1's to do "Old School" weekends that are 80% 70's and 80's classic rock and have been known to jump all over records that are utter stiffs. I am sure that Hot 104.7 has gained listeners in that area from those absolutely stupid 70's and 80's weekends.
Their sample logs from last weekend's "Old School" weekend is posted on the CHR board.

Huey Lewis, Black Sabbath, Dexy's Midnight Runners, Eddy Grant, Pink Floyd, and the like are not "old school". Not even close.

TruthSayer... you obviously have a problem with doctor's station. If you don't like it... don't listen. Simple as that. Beating us over the head with your hatred gets annoying and tired after a while. (For reference... see SoulCrusher's posts on Alternative and the New Jersey boards).

You don't like a broad CHR? How about a broad Hot AC? Rip apart my station for not being the typical "Mix" Hot AC. Go for it.

Or better yet.. start a new thread and post YOUR perfect sample hour.

Wholeheartedly agreed. Many times on our new music feature... I'll play a song new to the airwaves... and a listener will tell me "oh yeah! I heard it on so and so's MySpace page and loved it there!"

And during the lunch hour, I'll get requests for Crazy Bitch and Metallica, and on the other end, Digital Underground and Tone Loc. (We play the Digital and Tone Loc).

Format lines are always blurred. The charts are a good guidance to see what's big and what's failing... but don't use them as the absolute word on what's on your station. Your listeners will thank you for it.

We are the Best Mix of the 80s, 90s, and Today.

Hey Double_R.. what station do you program?

Overall.. your station hours look good. I'm guessing you aim for 35-54 more? Kool & The Gang stood out just a little to me :)

Yes, we shoot for 25-54 but during the day we lean a little more on 35-54 side of things. In past, up till about 2 months ago, we seemed even older. I personally would like to see us 25-45, but my OM & GM disagree with me on this.

I have been recycling in a lot more 90s and early 00s golds the last couple of months and I think our sound is much better than a 6 months ago.

Thanks for the positive feed back guys. Its nice to hear what people from other markets and that have other background and experiences think.
