New Savannah Station?

OK...I'm sure this is common knowledge, but...

WMZD is moving into from Statesboro to Rincon, which, according to the FCC, will give them city-grade coverage over Savannah, Hilton Head and Richmond Hill.

My questions are:

When can we expect the station on the air?

What would make decent money on the move-in?

That's Statesboro, not Statesville.

WMZD (formerly WMCD) lost its tower lease back in May, and had to go silent. I expect they could have gotten an extension, IF they (TAMA) had not changed their call-sign to something that close to WMCD, and kept the same format. There's no doubt that they did this to confuse people (advertisers) in Statesboro.

That said, Tama applied to modify the CP to go 100kw. The new CP has them staying at 50kw, with a tower in the general vicinity of Pooler...maybe even on one of the existing towers on Hwy 204.

I would think they'll definitely get it back on before May.

Depends on the format, and the sales department.

When Bullie gets the "final" CP (which should happen fairly quickly, as the Allendale AM has a CP to move to Barnwell, plus Bullie has applied for an AM there.), it will be immediately sold. After that, they have three years to get it built and operating.<P ID="signature">______________
