Apparently PD Andy Vierra has exited afternoon hosting duties, as the station has chosen to expand its faux "newsradio" image to the new "Afternoon News" with a Tim O'Callaghan. Ed Schultz has also been axed in favor of the ever-boring Clark Howard. Even someone who dislikes libtalk should agree that Ed's show sounds infinitely better than the grating rubbish put out by the so-called consumer champion.
It's apparent that KNEWS has abandoned progressive talk; Colmes was cut down to his current two hours when Schultz moved to nights and is the only one left from the format. If you consider him even a liberal. I can understand moving Schultz out of prime brokering time, but this seems silly. Not to mention that they wasted no time changing the schedule on their website, even though Ernie Brown was listed months after cancelled to pick up Basham, who, AFAIK, hasn't returned since he was dumped for Jim Bohannon recently. IIRC, he's gone back to KLAV where he's on at night. At least this time, he's probably not paying, and he has a few other stations.
