New Schedule Deviation for MyNetworkTV

I have learned that this Saturday MyNetworkTV is NOT airing its usual recap shows; instead it is airing the 1986 movie Something Wild. Talk about a snap network decision! This seems more rushed than when they revealed their new schedule would be rolled out in March.

According to wikipedia, org, we should expect to see changes in March--but this is February which only just begun! And according to titantv.com, a movie called 'Deceived' is supposed to air next Saturday (2/10/2007). Also, the International Fight League (IFL) apparently has struck a deal with FSN and MNTV to air this year's fight schedule....

Let's put it this way.....If "MyTV Network", were a ship, the crew is ready to mutuny! Yes, it's only 2 hours a night, six nights a week, but they are prime viewing hours. Across the board, ratings were so low especially durning November sweeps that it affected the rest of the station's dayparts. My guess is many of these station managers have made it clear to FOX in no uncertain terms; We want these POS "telenovels" off ASAP!

Yep, that was part of the Broadcasting & Cable report on the other thread for this subject. MY would end the Saturday novela recaps immediately, and would air movies on that night until March, when the IFL rebroadcasts begin airing.

Your guess is wrong. The affiliates have been surprisingly quiet. The stations were willing to stick with whatever Fox decided to do. The key here is that Fox is in the same boat as all the other affiliates. The affiliates know Fox will do whatever it takes to make this thing work. It was no surprise to anyone that Fox brought in some experienced programmers at the start of the year to make quick changes.

This won't be the final fix for My Network either. Stay tuned.

Let's put it this way.....If "MyTV Network", were a ship, it would be the RMS Titianic.

Are we going back in time? I mean, when the UPN weekend movie returned in 2001, it was actually a deal between the network and MGM. Something Wild is said to be an Orion Pictures release, hence the question: Did My Network TV strike a similar deal with MGM like UPN did, Or is this all just a coincidence?
