New Show to be available through Amazon Streaming Service

A new drama Bosch based on The Detective Harry Bosch novels by Michael Connelly is currently under development through Amazon will be available exclusively through Amazon's Streaming Service.

When Mr. Connelly first announced that he was working on a Bosch TV show I was hoping it would be on regular TV such as TNT or USA. Or at the very least on a premium channel such as HBO or Showtime.

NPR did an interesting report yesterday regarding Amazon's move into providing content. It focused on their first offering - Alpha House starring John Goodman, which premieres in a few days. The analyst who was interviewed posited that the main reason was to promote interest in, and new subscriptions to "Amazon Prime," which costs about $80 per year (IIRC), and brings you benefits such as free shipping. I am a member, and it makes it almost effortless to shop...and spend money.

Alpha House, and presumably the Bosch series, will be free to Amazon Prime members, at least the first couple of episodes. I am a fan of the Bosch series, and will definitely be checking it out. I would also prefer watching it on a TV (larger screen), so hopefully it can be streamed through Apple TV or Chromecast.
