Rock audiences per se are immediately suspect of any claims a station makes whereas CHR audience seem a bit more likely to go with the flow since they're essentially trianed to regurgitate the imaging slogan. Whenever a chr contest is done and the caller is asked "whose Boston's number one hit music station" for the most part they're pretty familliar with the claim and the way the routine goes so they scream out "Kiss 108". OR if it's Jamn when the jock says "Whose Boston's number one for Blazin hip hop and R & B" (which is a lot for a listener to digest but they can recite that slogan word for word) they HOLLA BACK "Jamn 94.5". My thought is that this auudience would tend to think: "ok they say they're Boston's number one hit music station, I guess they're Boston's number one hit music station" whereas rock audiences immediately challange any claim of superiority made.
